Meet the new nanny

Little Jeff was exhausted.

After an hour of running around the house with Maggie and playing his favorite games, supper time came up. She cooked his favorite food (noodles with chicken chopped up like his mom used to make) and then they checked out his homework for the next day. He was a bit behind but they made huge progress when she explained maths using anime characters.

After a while, she thought of him getting a bath, but she hadn't checked about that with Prof. Taylor so she thought it best for him to just get in bed. They sang a song to sleep and she headed back to the kitchen.

There was enough food left for Prof. Taylor to eat if he hadn't yet, which he probably hadn't. She heard about those conferences in college. Nobody ever eats, specially not the one getting awarded. And he was getting awarded that night.

She wonder what was going on with Prof. Taylor's wife, she should be there for him. Anyway, not her business.

She was quite reluctant to go over her notebook with him and he knew it so he "annotated" her works. It wasn't bad. It was like a paper, corrected by him.

She loved his handwriting, it was so clear. Uh oh. Oh no missy, you're not doing this. You're not fixating on your professor. On your MARRIED professor.

Yeah, well, too late now.

So, better to watch a movie I guess. Mmm... better not, he may come home any minute, not to mention, you need to be focused on little Jeff in case something is troubleing his sleep.

A while later, someone lifting her laptop from her lap woke her. "Oh shit I passed out".

She said hi to Prof. Taylor and he asked her again to call him Steve, but she wouldn't. She explained everything they did and apologised for having passed out.

-"You had a long day. I'm sorry I'm so late, I thought the dinner would end up earlier. Did he give you a lot of trouble?"

-"Not at all, he's really cute".

-"Cute?"

-"Yeah, totally. We played a lot, and then I cooked dinner for him and then we did his homework, and he was asleep at 9.45"

-"Pardon?"

-"Was it too early? He was really exhausted".

-"He ate dinner and made his homework? Really?"

-"Sure, wanna check it out? Want me to heat up the leftovers? I cooked a bit extra cos I imagined you didn't eat much"

-"I'd love to, thanks Maggie".

-"No problem Professor".

-"Maggie?"

-"Yes, I know, I should call you Steve, but I can't, sorry"

He smiled and picked Jeff's handbook. He checked all his exercises like he did everynight.

-"I know I should check with Susan, but she's well, you're great with him and-"

-"Daddy!!!"

-"What are you doing up!?" He picked his son up and gave him a really loud kiss on his cheeck.

-"I fell asleep singing with Maggie and I just woke up when I heard the door daddy! We did lots of things! I really like Maggie, can she stay?"

Steve looked at his new nanny blushing.

-"Well, I'm sure she needs to get some sleep"

-"But can she stay forever? She cooks really yummy like mom!"

-"Well Maggie, could you look after him regularly then?"

-"I'd love to". He put Jeff back in the floor and he run towards Maggie's legs. "Could I have some more of that?"

-"We cooked this for ur dad remember?"

-"Right, come here dad, you should try this, is really cool"

-"Cool?"

-"Oh sorry about that, he kinda got my slang today"

-"Maggie talks funny. I like her daddy".

-"I'm glad you do Jeff, I like her too".

She blushed again and kept on heating up the food. She couldn't understand why Prof. Taylor's wife would rather be somewhere else other than this kitchen.

The wife (and friend)

Patrick reached home feeling that something was off. He was ussually the one screwing up (or plain screwing) and he may not have been that much on the bright side, but he could surely pick flirting when he saw it. Even if it wasn't directed to him.

Steve was his friend, but Susan was his friend also. They were THE couple. They were who he would want to be if he'd take his marriage seriously. But he didn't. And he was starting to notice that maybe his friend wasn't either.

Now, should he tell Sally? She would sure know what to do.

- "Hello my dear wife"
- "Did you bring what I asked? Or you forgot?" She was up and down with little Dom, trying to make her sleep for a little while, but she seemed to have a fever.
- "Yes, right here. There's something I wanted to tell you. Today, at the pub, there was this girl-"
- "Oh please, can't you see I'm trying to make your daughter sleep?"
- "Yes, I can. This girl, she's Steve's... something"
- "Oh you mean the nanny? Oh thank god! Do you have her number?"
- "No. I don't. Actually she works there as a waitress and also she babysits. And Steve and her-"
- "Yes, she is in one of his classes, Susan told me all about it"
- "Oh she knows? Oh, okay".
- "Of course she knows! Just because she's in France that doesn't mean she doesn't know what goes on with her family".
- "Oh right. Well, I'm sure I can get her phone number".
- "Oh no Mr. I'll get her number thank you".

And just like that, she stormed off Dom's room.

So Susan knew about this girl. She knew it was the nanny and that she had some sort of relationship with her husband. For a little while Patrick conceived the idea of them having an open marriage, but then realized Steve would never go for it. Still, those legs, who wouldn't do crazy things for those legs?
